A couple weeks after returning from Christmas vacation with Heidi we decided to take her up to Nauvoo, IL to see the sights. It was a fun overnight trip but we packed a lot into those 2 days. We saw the new Joseph Smith movie in the visitor's center, drove by the Temple a whole lot to take pictures, saw almost all of the open exhibits (brick making, rope making, etc), saw Rendezvous (a play put on by the senior missionaries...so cute!), and played on the frozen Mississippi river. Yes, the Mississippi was completely frozen over! The temperature hovered around 7 degrees during the day. Add the wind chill factor to that and it was a cold trip! We all gained tremendous respect for our pioneer ancestors who lived in the area before modern conveniences.
So! Why is there a paragraph here and not the traditional slew of pictures? Heidi took them all on her camera and can't find the cord to download them. :) Check back for photos of us all bundled up on the frozen river!

Woo hoo! Can't wait for the pictures! I'm excited to see that... I've been to Nauvoo, but only during late summer/early fall... so I never got to see the river frozen! Sounds like a cold but fun trip!
