Our Patch

Earlier this year (aka: I can't remember which month) we went to the nursery and bought some pumpkin starts.  We thought it would be fun for the kids to grow their own pumpkins.  Daddy and the boys faithfully watered our little patch and it was fruitful. 

This little guy began to rot before we harvested them.  We also lost a few to slugs a while back which is why these pumpkins are resting on sand.  Bradley read that it would keep the slugs away and it worked.

 Brig still wanted to water them.  It's all he has done with them for the past several months. 

 These last few photos are just for fun.  They make me smile...

I was quite surprised we got four little sugar pumpkins our first try.  We learned a lot and hopefully next year we'll grow even more.  Now I have to figure out exactly how to make homemade pumpkin-puree.  We're going to bake with these little guys this week.
