Children's Museum

Last week when my sister stayed the night we decided to take the kids out for a fun day.  They haven't had too many of those lately. 


With me being sick so often they've been spending far too much time watching movies and playing by themselves.  It makes me sad.  


I know it's just how life is right now and I'm doing the best I can, but still.  It makes me sad to see them fending for themselves and having so much media time.  


So armed with my sister for the whole day and feeling decent that morning, we headed off to Seattle and the children's museum we've never explored.  

It was a happy memory in the making.  I don't know who had more fun...the kids or my sister?  Or me watching them?  :)

It was a gorgeous day for a ferry ride.

The museum:

 Story time.

The kids only lasted through one book.  There were so many cool exhibits to explore!

 

 

 This was their favorite exhibit.  

Brig dubbed it "The Vroooom Place!"

It had tons of little ping pong balls that you could stick in tubes and shoot them all over by pressing buttons. 

 

 This exhibit was like taking a stroll around the planet.  

There were homes and stores from all around the world and the kids could touch EVERYTHING.

 This was the workzone.  Esmé slept through this exhibit but the boys had a blast building.

 Next was the grocery store.  It was adorable.  All 3 kids loved it.

 

 There was even a check stand.  It was ridiculously fun to slide each item across and make the "beep" sound for them.  :) 

After they were done checking out the kids got to go back through and put everything away. 

 Next was a miniature Mexican Restaurant complete with a cash register, kitchen and dinning room.  So fun!!!

 This indoor playground was fun, although Allen slipped on this play-structure and put a gash in his head.  We had to fill out an incident report and ice it for a while.  Poor guy.  :(

Wendy climbed in everything with the children and filled her cell phone with photos and videos of the day.  

 Esmé loves boots.  She couldn't resist their dress-up stash.

 Lastly we hit a little post office where the kids wrote letters, put them in envelopes (that they got to lick close) and then put them in a (pretend) mail box.  

 Brig proudly mailed a letter to his cousin Marcus first.  :)

Thank you Auntie-Wendy for coming with us!  My children are lucky to have you in their lives.  It was so much fun spending time with you too.  I hope we can do this very often.  Love you.
